Note: If you were not born before the 90’s you might find this article insulting.
Thanks to the World Wide Web today we have the chance to take a good glance at the past. Today we live in the best times where all kinds of information travel through more minds than ever. Still, we somehow manage to ignore advice more and more, repeat all kinds of mistakes again and again.
That’s why I admire the idols of yesterday. Nowadays those people who have the most influence don’t take the responsibility to represent the best examples of human nature. When once upon a time Frank Sinatra entered a place, people wouldn’t gather around him for a quick picture only. People didn’t meet Frank Sinatra because it was cool, nor was their expectation anyhow related to showing themselves off. It was all about the respect that man got by being a truly great example of how a man can and needs to be. He wasn’t singing cheesy love songs or insulting people. He taught the audience his experience. You don’t listen to Frank Sinatra to amuse yourself during the ride from home to work. You listen to him to learn about love, passion and respect.
In the same way there are numerous good examples to learn from. Some teach with songs, others by quotes. Here are some of those.
I say, let’s try harder and remember to pass on their teachings and make fewer mistakes in the future or do you have a better proposition?
