Uummannaq is an amazing pearl located in Northwest Greenland. The name means “heart-shaped” and the little town got it from the huge heart-shaped cliff that is a part of uummannaq. It has only 1299 inhabitants, so it is certainly small and I bet the people there are like a big family.
Uummannaq is famous for its icebergs that you can see on glaciers that are situated nearby. Hunters and sealers have lived in the area for thousands of years, and of course there are today found a lot of mummies there that you can see at the Greenland’s National Museum. The houses have to be a trademark, because they are all colorful three houses that can remind a bit of Scandinavian houses.
The heart-shaped cliff can remind somewhat on the Norwegian Preikestolen that is a very popular tourist attraction.
